Volunteers participate in an orientation training session that covering the basics of solar, electricity, and construction safety. Afterwards, volunteers are eligible to participate on solar installations around San Luis Obispo county working together with SunWork's professional staff, attaching racking, running conduit, hanging inverters, and mounting the solar panels that make a system tick.
This orientation session is indoors in a class room setting. (3rd floor of 3-story building toward back of campus)
There is a separate presentation at 11:30 that discusses the economics of going solar along with purchasing tips. The 11:30 session will also provide an overview and maps to the "SLO Solar and Heat Pump Home Tour" taking place in the afternoon. The presentation will start at the Ludwick Community Center, 864 Santa Rosa St. in SLO.
